During COVID times we added sports pods to get more kids outside, active and social. It turns out...this is still needed!
Hi. I'm Sara Wetstone and I have run Ballard Basketball for over 15 years. I'm driven to provide safe, positive, environments that allow kids to have belonging and meaning in their lives. I'm so grateful for what sports, teammates and coaches have given me and I'd like to create that for others.
Summer Sports Pods is one solution to do just that. As a parent myself (of two now high school kids) living in Crown Hill, I understand the desire to get the kids off the screen and have a convenient, affordable, safe, active, social, positive place for them to go. And, by tapping into the amazing network of high schoolers many of whom I've know since they were kids or have worked for me in the past, we can create these opportunities. My deep value is that there should be no financial barrier to participation, so I'm welcoming community partners to join us and help keep fees to a minimum. If you are interested in becoming a community partner, please email me at ballardbasketballinfo@gmail.com
Once you register, you will be sent a Team Snap invite. It is through this app that we will communicate any changes due to weather, smoke, coach unavailability (although having multiple coaches per activity will ensure that we will rarely have to cancel for that reason). This will also be the way that we will communicate with you for any injury or emergency, so please add your contact number and turn on your notifications.
Each participant should bring a water bottle and be dressed in workout clothes. Sunscreen encouraged. For volleyball, try to bring a ball if you have one, but we will have extras if you don't. Put your name on EVERYTHING. And finally, participants are welcome to walk to Soundview/Whitman but if you are dropping off, don't leave until you see the coach there.
That's it! I hope you can join us for some fun this Summer!

Hi! I’m Nevaeh Harman and I’m from Spokane, Washington. I played basketball for Ballard High School and will be attending Oregon State University this coming fall. Coaching is one of my most favorite jobs I have done, because I love getting to meet so many new people, and being able help them grow their love for a sport.
